Hi Bob, you can use it for dry fly fishing as well. But this length is more suitable for nymping. If you want fish dry fly only occasionally then it is fine. If it is 50/50 I would prefer shorter rod, it is more universal. Primal Zone 9'6'' #3 is perfect for both technique.
